What is the alchemy of spilling sunlight
giving way to inky night shadows,
or a slender fringed wing extending
out and over the blood-tree roots
of the cracked cement path?
Ah the paradox of wild child wonder,
a sage’s soul, tumbling, rumbling
on hula-hoop wheels and spit fire friction.
She reaches across our hearts
to open
our too long shut window
with thoughtful kindness and grace.
